I would simply like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for the care our son received when he collapsed within sight of the finish line on Sunday at the Iron Man.

When my dad became suddenly ill on a Sunday it was a great relief to find the Hospital was open. They admitted him quickly and got him comfortable. While we had to wait for a bloods specialist to come in it was still quicker then any of the Perth hospitals I've been to. They where also very understanding of our needs as tourists to the area.

Worst service I've ever seen, we were down there for leavers and my friend Liam had not been drinking or anything but he had pain in his abdomen, we got an ambulance to this hospital and we're treated with such disrespect, I understand we are leavers and they are busy but you don't ignore patients when they're bleeding because you took his cannula out roughly and when he is vomiting non stop, he was called stupid and was told to use his common sense when in pain, even though we told them he had previously had problems with his appendix they ignored it and told us he probably ate something bad, we were sent away with no pain killers or even a vomit bag, luckily I took a couple. They failed to feel around or palpate his stomach and I had gotten blood all over me because I had to rewrap his arm because they wrapped it too tightly and his arm was turning redish purple. The nurses rolled they're eyes and seemed to be gathering around chatting when my friend was screaming in pain, he later went to a hospital in Perth where he underwent surgery where he had a ruptured and infected appendix... The nurse whhad treated us with a offhand and dismissive attitude, this same nurse also treated my friend the next night with the same attitude, she was seizing and was having multiple panic attacks and the nurse had gotten angry at her when she failed to find a vein to place a cannula, roughly handing her to another nurse. I would just like to understand why they would employ such an unprofessional nurse who treats her patients so badly, my mother works with the homeless who act up all the time and not once would she think of handling her patients the way this nurse treated us, I would also like to add I was treating her with respect and not once did I talk back yet she rolled her eyes at me as if we did this to ourselves and it was above her to even address us. Very sad with this service and I hope they can understand our situation.

We would also like to thank the paramedics who cared for him but have no idea how to.
